Mt Jefferson, SW Ridge M3 (CLIMB IS FULL)
This climb is full and not taking any more alternates.
Please note that this is planned as a 3 day climb. You must be able to commit to the full Wed-Sun window to give us flexibility to obtain overnight permits along with making sure we get a good weather window. The priority dates on Wed-Fri and will shift as needed from there.
Mt Jefferson is the hardest of the Oregon volcano summits to obtain. Conditions on the exposed traverse can be very finicky and getting behind schedule is quite common making it unsafe. This climb of the SW Ridge utilizes a bushwhack shortcut off of the popular South Ridge route establishing a high camp around 7500'. On summit day we will have a major headstart getting to the crux of the climb early in the day increasing our chance of success. Please note that we will have a
max team of 6
.
To Apply:
I will be taking applications through Tue May 28th
. After that, I will review them with my Asst Geoff Maggi and a team will be selected. This gives you plenty of time to review the linked prospectus thoroughly. After that, then reach out to me via email to apply.
If I am not familiar with you, please include details about peaks you've climbed, what you do for training, along with any other significant things that you've done outdoors. Having a reference from another climb leader, assistant leader, or other prominent member of the club goes a long way. So please drop a name if you can.
