This remote Wilderness is a perfect place during a busy holiday weekend. We saw two other hikers and fought no traffic.
The trail had a few blowdowns and is needing a good brushing, but the forest was beautiful. The meadows were past their prime this year. We all scrambled our way to the top of Chicken Rock for lunch and were treated to views from Rainier to the Sisters.
After the hike we stopped at Molalla Brewing for their root beer floats.
