Due to soaking rain in the mountains, we delayed the trip a few days, picking up a few extra hikers in the process. It was a good move.
The mountain bike folks had apparently cleared out the Rho trail of all blowdown, but they didn't clear the final mile to the meadow. Nanci counted 43 trees down in that small stretch. We cleverly negotiated them all with no blood drawn.
Gasps and cheers were heard as folks gained the meadow and all pain was forgotten. The lookout cabin made it through another winter and Mt. Jefferson was working his way through the clouds. The meadow was bright with Oregon Sunshine, penstemon and paintbrush. What a great lunchsite!
Enjoying a fun day together were: Nancy Earl, Joanne Schiedler, Nanci Chambers, Pam Thomas, Roland Swenson, Ann Wulff, Lynette Torgeson and Mary Coleman, leader.
