This loop hike takes us through forest, rocky ridges and open meadows below Cone Peak, with pauses to view lots of wildflowers. From there it is on to the Iron Mountain lookout and back to the parking lot.
A beautiful two mountain day.
This is a pleasant hike in the SHADE into Pamelia Lake, then along Pamelia Lake, and continuing up Pamelia Creek. We cross several small creeks and a small waterfall along the way. Lunch at or beyond the crossing of Pamelia Creek. On the way back we can divert about .5 mile to a great viewpoint of Mt. Jefferson near the PCT junction.

Marys Peak scenic botanical special interest area
Short, steep and rewarding hike.
This is the king of the Cascade volcanoes. Rainier‘s 14,411‘ summit is a worthy goal for experienced climbers. The Disappointment Cleaver route is the most popular route on the mountain and can get quite busy with guided groups and private parties.

Longer and quieter than the standard Bachelor Mountain route, this ridge offers amazing wildflowers, old-growth forest, and rock gardens, then climbs steeply to the summit, with magnificent views of Cascades peaks.
Miller Woods is a small conservation park with several ecosystems including a hayfield, oak savannah, ponds and streams. Our 5 mile hike allows us to see all Miller Woods has to offer. Group size is limited to eight. Miller Woods requests a donation for day use.
Time and meetup information will be texted two days before the hike. Hoping for a reasonably cool morning.

Summit Table Rock in the Wilderness.
Come climb Diamond Peak from Rockpile Trail. This is a nontechnical scramble. The summit is spectacular and offers views of the rest of Diamond Peak‘s arms and huge views of the entire Oregon Cascades.
No falls, but also no hoards :-)

This excellent hike, with many wildflowers, passes three mountain lakes. We then go off-trail to climb Red Butte. Great views of Jefferson, Jack, Three Sisters. A likely stop to swim on the walk back. Please sign up by 7/20 so leader can get permit.
Climb will be 3 days. Climbers must reserve the full Wed-Sun range. We need flexibility on acquiring overnight permits that are available 7 days before along with potential for weather/conditions to shift. The hope is that we go Wed-Fri but will shift as needed if we don’t get the needed permit.

The trail goes fairly steeply through forest and open meadows, with a rocky scramble to the summit. Lots of wildflowers and fine views. Always the possibility of some downed trees in the lower section.
